Bang Bang Theory - very scientific!
The Bang Bang theory, cleverly thought up by the one, the only Dr. Kate, explains the human memory in a slightly different way to that you may already have heard. I present: The Bang Bang theory!
She's barmey, she's off the rails I hear you cry. But read this and it may entirely change your prespective on life. Heres how it works:
Information passes into your head through your ears (I am guessing you already knew that)but heres the really difficult bit - what happens to it once it is in there?Well I have the answer.
Depending on how clever you are, your information passes around the inside of your head in different angles. For example, if you are Really really clever like Santa (he has to be clever to get all those presents round the world in one night)you will have a small angle of approimately 20 degrees. If you are fairly average, your angle is around 45 degrees and if you are really thick (i won't give an example) then your angle is 90 degrees.
Any way, say you are Santa. Your info goes in you ear, hits the inside of your head and bounces offf at an angle of 20 degrees. It does this hundreds of times inside your head going bang bang bang bang!!!!

Now, depending on what the information is, the speed of the information leaving through the other ear. For example, if it is chemistry stuff then it will wizz round really fast trying to get out cos it is taking up valuable space. However, if it is the juciest gossip in the world then it will travel really slowly so that you can remember it for much longer periods of time. If it is REALLY worth remembering, you occassionally get small pieces of absorbant sponge growing inside your head which absorb this information, there for giving you long term memory.

Clever or Not Clever?
Just in case you were wondering, the picture, below left, is of some very clever people. But how do you know if you are really clever or totally thick. Well, here's the test. I'll give you a sentance. If you can remember it, without looking back at it for 4 days or more and email it to me, then you are a genius. 2 days is roughly average for this kind of information, but don't worry if you can't remember it in 2 hrs time, it just might be that you found the information sooo boring, so it went bang bang really quickly all around your head, and then swiftly out of the other ear. You need specialist equiptment to truely find out if you are thick or not.
